Everything you need to know about Site Manager AI and the topics we cover.

Construction Compliance & Safety

What is a RAMS document?+
RAMS stands for Risk Assessment and Method Statement. It is a combined document used in UK construction that identifies hazards and risks (the risk assessment part) and describes the safe system of work to control those risks (the method statement part). RAMS are typically required by principal contractors before any work begins on site, especially for high-risk activities like working at height, excavation, hot works, and confined space entry.
How do I write a risk assessment for construction?+
A construction risk assessment follows five steps: 1) Identify the hazards specific to the task and site, 2) Determine who might be harmed and how, 3) Evaluate the risks using a likelihood x severity matrix, 4) Record your findings and implement control measures, 5) Review and update regularly. It must be task-specific (not generic), consider the actual site conditions, and be communicated to all workers involved.
What is a permit to work system?+
A permit to work (PTW) is a formal written system that authorises certain people to carry out specific work at a specific time. It is used for high-risk activities including hot works, confined space entry, electrical isolation, working at height, and excavation near services. The permit details the hazards, precautions required, time limitations, and must be signed by both the issuer and the worker before work begins.
What should a toolbox talk cover?+
A toolbox talk should cover a specific health and safety topic relevant to the current work. It should last 10-15 minutes, be delivered in plain language, include real examples or recent incidents, encourage questions and discussion, and be recorded with attendee signatures and the date. Common topics include manual handling, working at height, electrical safety, fire prevention, PPE use, housekeeping, and weather-related hazards.
What is a health and safety file?+
The health and safety file is a CDM 2015 requirement that records information needed for future construction work, maintenance, refurbishment, or demolition of the structure. The principal designer prepares it and passes it to the client at project completion. It includes as-built drawings, details of materials and hazardous substances used, maintenance schedules, structural information, and details of utilities and services.

AI in Construction

Can AI write construction documents?+
Yes, modern AI can generate professional construction documents including RAMS, method statements, risk assessments, toolbox talks, COSHH assessments, and many more. AI-generated documents use trained knowledge of UK regulations (CDM 2015, HSE guidance, Building Regulations) to produce compliant content. However, AI-generated documents should always be reviewed by a competent person before use, as they may need site-specific adjustments.
Is AI reliable for health and safety documents?+
AI-generated health and safety documents are a strong starting point but should not replace professional judgement. They excel at ensuring regulatory references are correct, maintaining consistent structure, and covering standard hazards. They may miss site-specific conditions that a physical inspection would reveal. Best practice is to use AI to generate the first draft quickly, then review and customise for the specific site, task, and conditions.
How can AI help with site inspections?+
AI can assist with site inspections in several ways: generating customised inspection checklists based on the type of work, analysing site photographs to identify potential hazards and PPE compliance issues, creating inspection reports from collected data, flagging items that need follow-up, and maintaining digital records with timestamps and GPS data. AI photo analysis can catch hazards that might be overlooked during busy site walks.
Will AI replace site managers?+
No. AI is a tool that enhances site managers' capabilities, not a replacement. AI excels at documentation, data analysis, and pattern recognition — tasks that consume hours of a site manager's day. But site management requires human judgement, relationship management, real-time decision-making, and physical presence that AI cannot provide. The most effective approach is AI handling the paperwork so site managers can focus on managing the site.
What construction documents can AI generate?+
AI can generate a wide range of construction documents including: RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statement), individual risk assessments, method statements, toolbox talks, COSHH assessments, site induction materials, permit to work forms, site diary templates, progress reports, meeting minutes, handover documents, snag list templates, fire safety plans, traffic management plans, and environmental management plans.

Using Site Manager AI

How much does Site Manager AI cost?+
Site Manager AI is available at £9.99 per month or £150 for lifetime access. The subscription includes unlimited AI document generation, photo analysis, AI chat, project organisation, and cloud backup. There are no per-user fees or hidden costs. The lifetime option gives you permanent access with a single payment.
Does Site Manager AI work with UK regulations?+
Yes, Site Manager AI is specifically built for UK and Irish construction regulations. All generated documents align with CDM 2015, HSE guidance, Building Regulations, and relevant British Standards. The AI is trained on current UK regulatory requirements and construction best practice, not generic international content.
Can I upload site photos for analysis?+
Yes, Site Manager AI includes a photo analysis feature. Upload photos of your construction site and the AI will identify potential hazards, check PPE compliance, flag unsafe conditions, and provide specific remediation suggestions. This is useful for site safety audits, progress documentation, and pre-visit risk identification.
How are my documents stored?+
All documents are stored securely in the cloud, organised by project. You can search, filter, and access your entire document history from any device. Version history is maintained so you can track changes over time. Data is protected with 256-bit encryption and there is zero third-party data sharing.
What platforms is Site Manager AI available on?+
Site Manager AI is available on iOS (iPhone and iPad), Android, and as a web application. Your projects and documents sync across all platforms, so you can generate documents on your phone on site and review them on your desktop in the office.
